How Rangers could line up against St Mirren

Sports Mole takes a look at how Rangers could line up in Saturday's Scottish Premiership clash with St Mirren.

Rangers will look to return to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership when they travel to St Mirren on Saturday afternoon.

Steven Gerrard's side recorded back-to-back wins over Hearts and Hamilton Academical before being held at home by Kilmarnock on Wednesday night.

A total of 18 points from 10 matches has left Rangers in fourth spot in the table, four points off second-placed Celtic, and eight points off leaders Hearts.

The Gers will welcome a St Mirren side that has only won one of their 11 league fixtures this season to sit 11th in the table, with only Dundee boasting a worse record at this stage of the campaign.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Gerrard's team could line up at St Mirren Park.

Out: Jamie Murphy (knee), Graham Dorrans (knee), Borna Barisic (groin), Lee Wallace (groin), Gareth McAuley (calf)
Doubtful: Ovie Ejaria (ankle)

Alfredo Morelos scored his fifth Scottish Premiership goal of the season in the 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock last time out, and the 22-year-old will again lead the Rangers line in Saturday afternoon's clash.

Jordan Rossiter stayed on the bench against Kilmarnock, but the Englishman will be hoping to earn a start this weekend. That said, Scott Arfield and Andy Halliday are expected to continue in the central positions.

On-loan Liverpool attacker Ryan Kent has been a constant in Gerrard's XI this season, and that will remain the case this weekend, with the 21-year-old looking to add to the three league goals that he has managed this season.

John Flanagan's position is under threat, however, with the defender replaced by Ryan Jack at the interval of the clash with Kilmarnock.

Jamie Murphy and Graham Dorrans remain long-term absentees for the Gers, but on-loan Liverpool midfielder Ovie Ejaria is battling to be fit following an ankle problem.
