Former Fulham boss Felix Magath apparently offered his managerial services to Rangers during recent discussions with new owner Dave King.
Former Gers midfielder Stuart McCall is believed to be on the verge of being appointed until the end of the season as King looks to make a change in the dugout.
Kenny McDowall is currently in caretaker charge at Ibrox but has given his notice, and King, who gained control of the Glasgow club last week, wants to bring in someone to reenergise their quest to return to the Scottish Premiership this season.
Sky Sports News reports that he met with former Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg manager Magath, who bought shares in Rangers in January, this week and the German declared his interest in helping out on 'football matters'.
The 64-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Fulham in September 2014.
