Stuart McCall has said that matching Hibernian for energy was important in Rangers's 2-0 Scottish Championship victory over the Edinburgh club.
Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller scored to give McCall his first win as Rangers manager.
"We thought with the pace that Hibs have sometimes with two we could get caught out and we certainly stopped their full backs getting on the ball which was a key thing," McCall told the club's official website.
"You can play shapes, formations and tactics but the players have to go and do it and show the desire like they did today and that's the main thing today.
"We went with energy in the wide areas with [Darren] McGregor and Wallace. I think we needed to match Hibs in that today because it's something they have in abundance."
The victory moves Rangers to within three points of Hibernian, and confirmed Hearts as Scottish Championship title winners.
