Rangers manager Ally McCoist has said that his side will be denied promotion under new plans to restructure the Scottish league system, which he claims "lack sporting integrity".
The new proposal would see the current four-tier format change to three leagues and McCoist thinks that this would unfairly penalise his side.
Rangers would take up a place in the bottom tier of the new league system, even if they win the Third Division title this season.
"I don't think reconstruction can go through," STV quotes McCoist as saying.
"It lacks sporting integrity. I don't think you can change during a season. All we are looking for is continued fair play. If we win the league then we should be promoted, in my opinion."
Rangers are currently 17 points clear at the top of the Scottish Third Division.
