Annan Athletic and Rangers shared the points in a 0-0 draw in this afternoon's game in the Scottish Third Division.
Rangers started as the better of the two sides at the Galabank, and put some pressure on the home side early on in the game.
David Templeton was brought down after a Rangers counter attack on six minutes; the left-sided midfielder was eventually replaced by Fran Sandaza.
A chance fell to Rangers on 28 minutes when Lewis Macleod played a pass through to Barrie McKay, who then played in Sandaza but the shot was blocked well.
The away side gradually began to control the game much more and nearly made it 1-0 through Jig on 33 minutes. Sandaza's persistence allowed him to break down the wing and cross into the box, though the finish was lacking from Jig.
Sandaza was involved again on 38 minutes, pulling the ball back to Dean Shiels, who had his shot blocked.
Annan had their best chance after 43 minutes when Jack Steele got in behind the defence, but the midfielder could not finish the chance.
With 55 minutes gone, Annan nearly went in front through Steel. The Rangers defence had a momentary lapse and allowed Steele in, but his drove his shot wide.
Some neat football from Rangers gave them a chance on 64 minutes, but Shiels's attempt to dink it over the goalkeeper failed.
Rangers continued to press but could not find a way past Annan's resolute defence.
Ally McCoist's side nearly grabbed a late winner in the 90th minute, but a wonder save from the Annan goalkeeper kept the sides level.
The final whistle blew with the score at 0-0.
