Rangers defender Bruno Alves has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Benevento.
During the summer, Alves was brought in by then-boss Pedro Caixinha as Rangers prepared for a return to Europe but since then, the Scottish giants failed to progress through their first tie and Caixinha has since been sacked.
Alves has still gone on to make 17 appearances for the Glasgow outfit but it appears that the Portuguese international could be given the chance to return to Serie A having represented Cagliari last season.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Benevento are keen to boost their hopes of launching a survival bid in Italy's top flight by bringing in Alves before the end of January.
Benevento are eight points adrift of safety, but the bottom-of-the-table side have improved in recent games having previously lost a dozen matches in a row since their promotion.
