Two missed penalties have cost Sevilla the chance to take all three points from their trip to Rayo Vallecano.
The first came after just seven minutes, when Jordi Amat was adjudged to have fouled Alvaro Negredo inside the area.
The striker himself stepped up to take the spot kick, but struck the post.
Ivan Rakitic then had the chance to atone for the earlier miss when Ruben Martinez brought him down in the 69th minute.
The keeper saw red for the challenge and was replaced by Dani Gimenez.
Rakitic then blazed his penalty wide of the target, much to the frustration of Los Rojiblancos coach Michel Gonzalez.
Sevilla had been the better team throughout the match, but they could not force a winner and the score remained goalless.
