Real Sociedad finished their La Liga season on a winning note by beating Rayo Vallecano 4-2 at Campo de Futbol de Vallecas this evening.
Having spent the first half of the season under the threat of relegation prior to David Moyes's arrival at San Sebastian, Sociedad looked determine to end a mixed season on a high.
They made inroads toward achieving that early on as Carlos Vela fired the visitors ahead on 19 minutes, before Chory Castro doubled their advantage shortly after.
However, Alberto Bueno pulled one back for Rayo three minutes before the break with what proved the foundations of a comeback as Morcillo drew them level on 64 minutes.
Being pegged back only seemed to spur on Moyes's side, who reestablished the lead through Imanol Agirretxe on 73 minutes, before Aritz Elustondo restored the two-goal cushion moments later.
Sociedad finish the campaign in 12th, three points behind Vallecano in 11th.
