Andrew Taylor admits to initially feeling disappointed by Reading's draw at Rotherham, but believes that maintaining the current unbeaten run can only be a good thing.

Andrew Taylor has reflected on Reading's draw at lowly Rotherham United as a "really good" point gained.

The Royals missed out on the chance of climbing into the Championship's automatic promotion zone after being held 1-1 at the New York Stadium.

Despite the initial disappointment at being unable to hold on to their one-goal lead, Taylor insists that he was simply happy to make it five league outings without defeat.

"Every game we go into, especially now we're full of confidence, we're looking to and hoping to win," he told the club's official website. "But it's a tough league and Rotherham made it difficult for us. I thought they played well - it was their first home game with their new manager, and unfortunately we couldn't quite get the three points.

"When we came into the dressing room, the initial emotion is one of disappointment because we do want to win every game. But when you look at the bigger picture, a point is really good because it keeps our unbeaten record going and keeps our momentum going, and takes us nicely into the weekend.

"It's the start of the season and we have got a hell of a long way to go. But at the same time, now we're up there, we want to stay up there - or climb higher. That's what we're striving for and we've got to take each game as it comes, keep plugging away and getting as many points as we can."

Next up for Reading is a trip to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.
