Reading boss Nigel Adkins has revealed that Danny Guthrie could miss the rest of the season with a calf injury.
The 26-year-old midfielder was forced to sit out Tuesday night's 3-1 defeat at Bournemouth after suffering the problem in the warm-up.
"He had a similar injury earlier in the season and was out for a while," Adkins is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.
"The scan will determine the grade of the injury. Hopefully it's not a strain. It could take 21 days to clear up, and the domestic season finishes on May 3 so any injury now is running it close."
Reading, who are currently in sixth place in the Championship table, return to action on Monday when they host Leicester City.
