Reading midfielder Jem Karacan has expressed his desire to play for Turkey having recovered from injury.
Karacan has played for Turkey's youth teams but has yet to make the step up to full international level.
The 23-year-old admitted that being left out of manager Abdullah Avci's latest squad was a blow, but hopes that his performances for Reading will help him force his way into the side.
"When the Turkish people say you're still not quite ready to come back, it's a bit of a kick in the ribs," he told the club's official website.
"It's been a while coming back from injury, about five months, but I want to show them what I can do."
Karacan has made six appearances for Reading already this season.
