Brian McDermott will reportedly become Reading manager for the second time in his career later today.
The Championship side confirmed this morning that a press conference had been scheduled for 2pm to unveil the new man in charge.
According to Get Reading, 54-year-old McDermott will return to the club and succeed Steve Clarke, who was sacked earlier this month after the 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers.
McDermott was fired from the Reading job in 2013 with the club struggling to stay up in the Premier League and quickly found another position with Leeds United.
He lasted for less than a year at Elland Road and has since been working as a scout for Arsenal.
If McDermott does take over, he will inherit a side who have lost four games in a row and lie 13th in the Championship.
