Nicky Shorey has backed Reading caretaker manager Eamonn Dolan to be handed the job on a permanent basis.
Dolan took charge of the Royals for Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Manchester United, following the sacking of Brian McDermott last Monday.
Shorey, who started the game at Old Trafford, has admitted that he has enjoyed working under Dolan.
"It's not down to me, but I've enjoyed working with Eamonn," Shorey told The Sun.
"Whatever the decision the owner makes will be fine with us and we will get on with it. We had a good week with Eamonn and we'll work for him for however long it will be."
Reading sit 19th in the Premier League, seven points adrift of safety.
