A late goal from Wigan Athletic rescued a point as they drew 2-2 with Reading at the DW Stadium on Saturday.
Callum McManaman gave the home side the lead, but two goals in quick succession from Shaun Cummings and Sean Morrison looked to have given the Royals the win before James McArthur equalised late on.
Nick Blackman nearly gave his side the lead inside the first 10 when his header came off the post from a corner kick.
However, the home side had the lead just before the half-hour mark when Callum McManaman raced through before keeping his cool with a dinked finish over goalkeeper Adam Federici from a tight angle.
Andrew Taylor came close to marking his debut with a spectacular effort, but his 30-yard strike went narrowly before the end of the half.
Reading started the second half well and Michael Hector caused the Latics some problems before Jake Taylor's appeals for a penalty were waved away when his shot was blocked inside the area.
Scott Carson made a superb save to deny Blackman, but the stopper was unable to keep out Cummings's low effort from the edge of the box.
Six minutes later, the Royals had the lead when Morrison turned the ball home after a looping header back across goal from Alex Pearce, but the Latics grabbed a late leveller when McArthur headed past Federici.
