MK Dons were left the happier team as they drew 0-0 away to Reading in the first ever competitive match between the sides.
David Martin pulled off a nice save to deny Hal Robson-Kanu from point-blank range after Kyle McFadzean had blocked Orlando Sa's effort.
Sa saw a header ruled out for offside before Oliver Norwood had a strong effort parried by Martin as Reading started the livelier of the two teams.
Martin was called into action multiple times after the break, first to palm Norwood's curling effort around the post, before Nick Blackman saw a stinging shot tipped over the bar.
Alex Fernandez came on to make his debut for Reading as they threw bodies forward into the attack, but it just wasn't their day as Martin and the Dons defence held firm.
The draw sees Dons hang on to fourth place in the Championship while Reading drop down to 19th.
