Reading teenager Tennai Watson has signed a two-year professional contract with the Championship side.
The 19-year-old defender has been a regular fixture for the Royals' Under-21 outfit and has now been rewarded with a new deal having trained with the first team in recent weeks.
"Tennai is one of a number of really good young players we have going forward, another product of our academy, another one of our own. So I'm delighted he has signed a new deal with us," Reading boss Brian McDermott told the club website.
Watson has been named in Reading's matchday squad for three of their last four Championship matches.
