His style of play was so good that they even made a documentary in 2006 focusing on his every movement. Long before becoming a serial winner on the touchline, Zinedine Zidane really was capable of it all when out on the field of play.

A case in point being arguably his most memorable strike of all, coming in the 2002 Champions League final against Bayer Leverkusen at Hampden Park.

Zidane lit up the Glasgow night sky by watching the flight of Roberto Carlos's looped cross from the left all the way, before volleying the ball inside Hans-Jorg Butt's post in a 2-1 win for his side.

This was a goal worthy of winning any contest, especially the biggest of them all on the club stage. The celebrations were wild, and the image of Zidane wheeling away in disbelief will long live in the memory of every Madridista.
