Ramon Calderon backs Gareth Bale to help Real Madrid to Champions League success.

Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes that Gareth Bale can help the Spanish giants win the Champions League.

The Wales international winger joined Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur on a six-year contract for a reported record fee of £85m.

"Nowadays there is not another player in Europe or the world like him," BBC Sport quotes Calderon as saying. "He is strong, fast and scores a lot of goals.

"He can help the team reach their aims of winning the Champions League, the Spanish League and any other titles."

Bale is currently on international duty with Wales.
