Agent Jorge Mendes has criticised the decision to award Luka Modric the UEFA Men's Player of the Year award over Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid won the Champions League for the third successive year during the last campaign, with Ronaldo topping the scoring charts with 15 goals.
However, Modric finished well clear of Ronaldo in the voting - which involves coaches and journalists - and Mendes has described the result as "shameful".
Mendes told Record: "Football is played on the field and that's where Cristiano won. He scored 15 goals, carried Real Madrid on his back and conquered the Champions League again.
"It's ridiculous, shameful. The winner is not in doubt, as Ronaldo is the best in his position."
Liverpool's Mohamed Salah finished in third place.
