Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos feels that his side's poor performance in the first leg of their semi-final clash against Borussia Dortmund cost them a place in the Champions League final.
Jose Mourinho's side beat Dortmund 2-0 at the Bernabeu but couldn't overturn the 4-1 deficit from the first leg of the tie, allowing Jurgen Klopp's side to advance to Wembley.
Ramos told reporters: "It's a shame. Sometimes you lose, that is football. In Dortmund we should have played the way we did tonight.
"We feel for the fans. It's a shame to have been so close but the missed chances in the first half were costly."
Madrid boss Mourinho has admitted that he may leave the club at the end of the season following their defeat.
