Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that he is humbled by equalling Raul's goalscoring record and reaching 501 career goals in Wednesday's 2-0 Champions League win in Malmo.
The Portuguese, 30, struck in both halves to move level with the legendary Spanish striker on 323 strikes for the Blancos, and breach the 500-goal barrier overall.
"501 goals? It's not bad, eh! It is a great achievement," he told reporters at full time on Wednesday.
"I am so happy and so proud to beat this record. I am delighted to do it and make Real Madrid history. That was not something I thought of doing when I arrived.
"Raul has talked with me and he congratulated me. I know he did it from the heart."
Raul reached his tally with 741 appearances for the club, while Ronaldo managed it in just 308.
