Sports Mole takes a look at how each player performed during Real Madrid's 8-0 win over Malmo in the Champions League.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored four times as Real Madrid thumped Malmo 8-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Ronaldo's four-goal haul moved him onto 11 strikes in the group stages - a new record - while Karim Benzema also found the back of the net three times during a fine performance.

Mateo Kovacic was also on the scoresheet for Los Blancos, who won five and drew one of their six Group A matches. As for Malmo, they have finished bottom of the section and missed out on a spot in the Europa League.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each player performed in Madrid.

REAL MADRID

Goal

Kiko Casilla: Will not have many easier nights between the sticks for Real Madrid. Only faced one shot and it was a routine stop for the Spaniard. Watched in delight as his team ran riot in Madrid. (6/10)

Defence

Danilo: Has not quite been in full flow this season, but this was much more like it from the Brazilian. Caused devastation with his pace and power in a wide position and set up Ronaldo's second. (8/10)

Pepe: Skippered the team from centre-back and put in a solid 53 minutes before being replaced by Marcelo early in the second period. Helped keep Malmo's forward players extremely quiet. (7/10)

Nacho: Currently enjoying a long run in the Real Madrid team and the Spaniard put in another mature performance here. Not his toughest game, but did not put a foot wrong at the back. (7/10)

Alvaro Arbeloa: Has not had much football this season and this was a nice game for the Spaniard. Not as involved going forward as Danilo on the opposite side, but was solid enough at the back. (7/10)

Midfield

Casemiro: Another that could have added his name to the scoresheet, but the Brazilian still put in a strong performance. Did not give Malmo any space to build in the middle of the park. (8/10)

Mateo Kovacic: Got his name on the scoresheet in the 70th minute when he swept home from just inside the box. Put in a strong performance before being replaced in the latter stages. (8/10)

Isco: Extremely unfortunate not to find the back of the net after a fine performance in midfield. Malmo just could not deal with the Spaniard when he twisted and turned in the final third of the field. (8/10)

Attack

James Rodriguez: Still struggling to return to full flow after a period on the sidelines. Was neat and tidy in possession, but was overshadowed by the likes of Ronaldo and Benzema. (7/10)

Karim Benzema: Has been in excellent form this season and the Frenchman hit a wonderful hat-trick this evening. Always in the right place at the right time to find the back of the net. (9/10)

Cristiano Ronaldo: Not quite perfect, but not far from it. Moved onto 11 goals in the group with four more in the capital. Could have had six or seven during another sensational performance. (9/10)

Substitutes

Marcelo: The Brazilian's return to fitness has come at a key time for Los Blancos and he was given almost all of the second period here. Played pretty much as a left-winger for his team. (7/10)

Jese Rodriguez: Will have been disappointed not to have started, but the Spaniard was bright in the final 25 minutes and played his part in his team's final two goals of the evening. (7/10)

Denis Cheryshev: Luckily this was not the Copa del Rey, so the Russian was free to play for the final 15 minutes. Had a couple of opportunities to further increase Real Madrid's lead late on. (7/10)

MALMO

Goal

Johan Wiland: Did make some decent saves, but had a horror for Real Madrid's third and did not exactly inspire confidence between the sticks. Not a game that he will remember too fondly. (4/10)

Defence

Anton Tinnerholm: Was not given many opportunities to break forward and could not live with Ronaldo down the other end. There was no structure to Malmo's back four in Madrid. (4/10)

Kari Arnason: Skippered the team from centre-back, but the vastly experienced defender could not marshall his team into a tight shape. The visitors were just all over the place at the back. (4/10)

Felipe Carvalho: Ultimately part of a defence that showed some Sunday League defending in the second period. Malmo made it so easy for the home side to get on the scoresheet. (4/10)

Yoshimar Yotun: Did look a threat when he was allowed to venture forward, but the Peru international did not seem to know what was happening behind him when Real Madrid broke with pace. (5/10)

Midfield

Erdal Rakip: Probably his team's best player on the evening. Came close to registering with a couple of long-range efforts and showed nice ability when he had possession of the ball. (6/10)

Oscar Lewicki: A long-range effort, which flew over, was the Swede's only serious involvement in Madrid. Could not protect his back four due to Real Madrid's cutting edge in attack. (5/10)

Enoch Kofi Adu: Had the energy needed to cover the yards, but the 25-year-old lacked the skills needed on the ball to make a serious impression. The game seemed to pass him by. (5/10)

Tobias Sana: Looked dangerous when he had the space to run at the Real Madrid defence, but that did not happen on too many occasions. Was replaced in Malmo's second change just past the hour. (5/10)

Attack

Jo Inge Berget: Has a good scoring record for Malmo, but the 25-year-old did not have any chances to get on the scoresheet here. Was not seen for long spells of the contest. (5/10)

Nikola Djurdjic: Was not short of running and intensity in the first period, but just did not have enough service to make an impression. Was withdrawn at the interval for Vladimir Rodic. (5/10)

Substitutes

Vladimir Rodic: Was introduced at the break and had his team's only shot on target early in the second period. Looked keen to get involved, but like Djurdjic, was starved of the ball. (6/10)

Agon Mehmeti: Only managed two league goals for Malmo during their most recent season and the 26-year-old struggled to make an impression after being introduced in the 64th minute. (5/10)

Simon Kroon: Thrown on in the 76th minute with Malmo 8-0 behind. Extremely tough ask for a 22-year-old to go into that sort of contest and express himself with such limited time. (5/10)
