Early claims from Real Madrid assistant coach Aitor Karanka that Mesut Ozil could miss next Friday's Copa del Rey final have proved premature after the player was checked by the club's medical team.
Ozil was stretchered off late in Real's 6-2 win against Malaga, which led to concerns from the Real camp immediately after the game.
However, after being checked out by club physiotherapists it has been found that Ozil has suffered just a mild strain in his right ankle, which should heal in time for Friday's match.
Ozil has been ever-present for Real this season, making 44 appearances in all competitions.
