Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has insisted that his team "deserved" to beat Real Madrid in Sunday's El Clasico.
Goals from Jeremy Mathieu and Luis Suarez secured all the points for the hosts in a 2-1 win and Bartomeu believes that the public were treated to "a vibrant and exciting match".
"The most important thing is that people have seen a vibrant and exciting match," he told Canal+.
"It was played from end to end and there were a lot of chances for both sides, but on the whole I thought Barca deserved to win.
"In the first half Madrid imposed themselves upon us but we are a team that likes to have the ball and eventually that's what happened."
Barcelona are currently four points clear at the top of La Liga.
