The Spanish league has revealed that it will be investigating Cristiano Ronaldo's goal celebration following Real Madrid's defeat to Barcelona in the El Clasico match at Camp Nou at the weekend.
The Portuguese international scored an equaliser in the clash, which ended in a 2-1 defeat for the European champions, between the top two sides in La Liga, before appearing to urge the home supporters to calm down.
A statement from league president Javier Tabas said: "We have to be careful with provocative gestures by a player or conduct that could incite violence among spectators. It must be sanctioned, from a fine up to a suspension. We will look into it."
Ronaldo has scored 42 goals in 40 appearances for Real Madrid so far this season.
