Barcelona captain Xavi has claimed that his side were "very superior" to Real Madrid after the Catalan club's 3-1 El Clasico win.
The Spain international scored Barca's second at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night as they went top of the La Liga table.
"We were very superior to Real Madrid," he told La Sexta.
"We wanted to be brave here. We know that you cannot win otherwise and the team played a great match in every department. We are far superior to Real Madrid.
"I am very happy about everything, for the victory, and the most important thing is that collectively we played a great game and we were very superior."
The European champions will now take a break from league duties to participate in the FIFA World Club Championship in Japan.
