Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has insisted that he has "always had a good relationship" with Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos.
Pique and Ramos, barring injury, will line up together at the heart of Spain's back four at Euro 2016.
Despite the rivalry between Barcelona and Real Madrid, Pique has denied that there is friction between himself and Ramos ahead of Spain's tournament opener against Czech Republic on June 13.
"I've always had a good relationship with Sergio. Obviously, when it's a club matter he defends his interests, Real Madrid, and I defend mine, but on the pitch we won the European Championships together, conceding one goal," Pique told Onda Cero.
"I think we've always been good in the national team. When you get here you forget about the ups and downs. You're defending and fighting for the same thing. We try to help each other because ultimately, we want to win games.
"People are always looking for what sells, which is the problem, the discussion not being on good terms. Sergio and I have never had a problem. At club level there was a time when relations weren't the best, the whole world knows that, and we talk about that, but on a personal level there's never been problems."
Spain have won the last two editions of the European Championships.
