Real Madrid have confirmed that Dani Carvajal has sustained a hamstring injury that is expected to keep the full-back out of action for the rest of the season.
The Spain international hobbled off the field 13 minutes from time in Tuesday's 1-1 Champions League semi-final first-leg draw with Chelsea.
After undergoing a scan on Thursday, Madrid announced on their official website that Carvajal has suffered a muscle tear.
Spanish outlet Marca suggests that the 29-year-old will not play again this season, and that could make him doubtful for his country's Euro 2020 campaign.
Carvajal has been plagued by injury setbacks all campaign, restricting the defender to just 15 appearances in all competitions.
As well as still being in Champions League contention, Madrid are also right in the mix to retain their La Liga title with five games to go.
