Real Madrid have revealed that midfielder Toni Kroos has suffered a "fracture-avulsion of the base of the fifth metatarsal" in his right foot.
Kroos was forced to pull out of the Germany squad for their upcoming internationals after picking up the fracture during Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Leganes in La Liga at the weekend.
Los Blancos have now confirmed the full extent of the 26-year-old's injury and revealed that "his recovery will continue to be monitored".
"After tests carried out today in Germany on Toni Kroos under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a fracture-avulsion of the base of the fifth metatarsal in the right foot," read a statement from Real Madrid. "The injury was picked up in the last league game against Leganes. His recovery will continue to be monitored."
Kroos is expected to be on the sidelines for at least the next two months.
