Sports Mole selects its 11 top performers in La Liga following another weekend of pulsating action.

Deportivo La Coruna and Barcelona threw up a feast of football on Saturday as the Catalans edged a nine-goal thriller at the Riazor Stadium.

The 5-4 victory kept Barca top of the table with 22 points from eight games, but Real Madrid continued their resurgence with a comfortable 2-0 win over Celta Vigo. Meanwhile, Malaga and Valencia also secured victories on a pulsating Saturday.

Sunday also provided drama as Espanyol scored late on to secure their first three points of the season, while Levante and Real Zaragoza secured victories on the road.

Osasuna and Real Betis shared the points in a 0-0 draw on Sunday and Atletico Madrid continued their winning run with a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad.

Here, Sports Mole picks out the 11 performers that made their mark in La Liga this week.

Iker Casillas (Real Madrid)
The Spanish stopper did not have a great deal to do for 85 minutes of his side's 2-0 win over Celta Vigo. However, he made two top-class saves in the final moments.

Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)
The 26-year-old returned to central defence against Celta Vigo and put in the kind of performance that makes him one of the best defenders in world football.
Sergio Ballesteros (Levante)
The experienced defender put in an exceptional captain's performance in his side's 1-0 win over Getafe on Sunday.
Diego Godin (Atletico Madrid)
The 26-year-old Argentine was sensational in his side's 1-0 win over Real Sociedad on Sunday. He was calmness and composure personified.
Javier Paredas (Real Zaragoza)
The entire backline of Zaragoza impressed in their win over Granada, but it was the 30-year-old Spaniard that defended and attacked in equal measure.

Isco (Malaga)
The 20-year-old is now regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Spain. He further exemplified this with a goal and an assist against Real Valladolid on Saturday.
Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona)
The Spaniard is enjoying his best spell in a Barcelona shirt and he laid on three assists in his side's pulsating win over Deportivo.
Joan Verdu (Espanyol)
The 29-year-old midfielder has had a very productive season to date and added to it with two goals in his side's 3-2 win over Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.

Artiz Aduriz (Athletic Bilbao)
The former Valencia man scored twice in a 3-2 defeat against his former club. The first was particularly special, but it was his all-round performance that most impressed.
Pizzi (Deportivo La Coruna)
The 23-year-old scored twice in his side's defeat to Barcelona. His second was a fantastic free kick into the top corner.
Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
What more is there to say? He took his tally to 11 league goals this season with his 21st hat-trick of his career in the win over Deportivo.
