Gareth Bale has played down his contribution to Real Madrid's 3-2 win over Rayo Vallecano yesterday afternoon.
Visiting Real found themselves 2-0 down at the Campo de Futbol de Vallecas, but they responded to claim all three points, thanks in part to a brace from Welsh winger Bale.
However, Bale has insisted that his side's La Liga title quest is the most important thing, rather than individual glory.
"It was difficult, but we showed great character and spirit to get the three points," the 26-year-old told the club's official website.
"Being the hero isn't important, winning and keeping up the fight for La Liga is."
With three matches left to play, Madrid are one point adrift of leaders Barcelona.
