New Real Madrid signing Gareth Bale has claimed that becoming the world's most expensive footballer is not on his mind.
The Welshman is believed to have costed Madrid £85m when he made the move from Tottenham Hotspur to the Bernabeu, eclipsing the price of former Ballon d'Or winner and new teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite some claiming that Bale could feel under pressure due to his expensive price tag, the prolific player has not concerned himself with the fee.
"I don't really think about it," Bale told BT Sport. "It was done between the two clubs. Daniel [Levy] wanted an unbelievable deal for me to move because he thought I had a high value.
"I understand everything that comes with me to Real Madrid and becoming a massive player, for me I have to take it in my stride."
Meanwhile, Bale, who became a BT Sport ambassador this season, has been named on the bench for Wales's World Cup qualifier against Macedonia this evening.
