Bayern Munich have confirmed that Xabi Alonso has agreed to join the German champions from Real Madrid.
Reports emerged yesterday claiming that the former Liverpool midfielder has chosen to join Bayern after spending five years at the Bernabeu.
According to numerous reports, the Bundesliga side have confirmed that they have agreed personal terms with Alonso, who is due to undergo a medical today, but an agreement is yet to be reached with Madrid.
Bayern boss Pep Guardiola is said to have turned his attention to the 32-year-old after Toni Kroos opted to move to the Bernabeu and Javi Martinez suffered an injury blow.
Yesterday, Alonso confirmed his retirement from international football after earning 114 caps for Spain.
