Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has been ruled out for a month with a fractured hand.
The 31-year-old suffered the injury when he was accidentally kicked by teammate Alvaro Arbeloa during the club's 1-1 draw with Valencia in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.
A club statement read: "After completing the first X-ray tests at the Hospital Sanitas La Moraleja, it has been confirmed that the player Iker Casillas suffered a fracture at the base of his first metacarpal of his left hand.
"It will be evaluated again later today by the specialist to decide the course of treatment."
The injury means that Casillas is likely to miss the first leg of Real Madrid's Champions League last 16 tie with Manchester United on February 13.
