Russian winger Denis Cheryshev has spoken of his happiness after he made his debut for Real Madrid during a Copa del Rey tie with CD Alcoyano last night.
Despite having joined the club at the age of 11, 22-year-old Cheryshev had not featured for the Los Blancos side until he was included in the starting lineup on Tuesday evening.
However, rather than contemplating how long it has taken him to force his way into Jose Mourinho's plans, Cheryshev chose instead to look to the future.
"Ever since I arrived at the club as an 11-year-old I have dreamed of this moment," said Cheryshev.
"It's an indescribable feeling but I am very happy and want to continue working hard so I can celebrate more achievements like this one."
Cheryshev is the first Russian to have represented Real in an official encounter.
