Real Madrid assistant coach Paul Clement has ruled himself out of the running for the vacant Newcastle United job.
John Carver is currently in temporary charge at St James' Park following Alan Pardew's move to Crystal Palace earlier this month.
Clement admitted that he was "flattered" by the links but distanced himself from the position.
He told talkSPORT: "Newcastle are a fantastic football club and I'm very flattered to be linked with them, as well as other great clubs in England.
"But I'm enjoying my experience in Madrid and I think it's best for me to stay here in the near future, to gain more experience working with these great players at this great club."
Caretaker boss Carver recently admitted that he wants the job on a permanent basis.
