Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has reaffirmed his commitment to the European champions amid links with the manager's job at Roma.

Ancelotti has enjoyed significant success since he returned to Real Madrid in 2021, having clinched two La Liga titles, two Champions League titles, two Spanish Super Cups, a Copa del Rey, a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.

The 65-year-old recently added to his trophy haul, guiding Real Madrid to a 3-0 success in the Intercontinental Cup final against Pachuca.

Despite winning multiple honours in his second spell with Los Blancos, there has been speculation suggesting that Ancelotti could depart at the end of the season.

The Italian is currently under contract until the summer of 2026, but Real Madrid are believed to be keen to prise Xabi Alonso away from Bayer Leverkusen ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Ancelotti responds to Roma links

With uncertainty surrounding his future, Ancelotti has been linked with the manager's position at Roma - a club that he spent around eight years at during his playing career.

The experienced manager has now reaffirmed his commitment to Real Madrid, although he left the door open for future roles away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

"There is a lot of talk about [Roma], but I am fine here and I am working to stay as long as possible," Ancelotti told Rai Radio 1.

"[Roma manager] Claudio Ranieri is a friend and he is doing very well, I am happy. I have a great relationship with Roma, very good memories, but there is a long way to go from saying to doing.

"At the moment, I am fine here and I am not thinking about my future. I still have a two-year contract, but contracts can be broken or extended."

Why are Roma searching for a new manager?

Ranieri is currently in the Roma dugout at the Stadio Olimpico after coming out of retirement to replace Ivan Juric in November.

The 73-year-old agreed to return to Roma for a third spell, signing a deal until the end of the season while also agreeing to help the club's owners in their search for a new manager.

Ranieri will move into a senior executive position at the end of the season, making way for a new manager to take over the reins in the summer.

Ancelotti would undoubtedly be a coup for the Giallorossi, but as it stands, a return to the Stadio Olimpico seems a long way off.

With that said, Ancelloti certainly has an affiliation with Roma after winning five trophies with the club during his playing days. body check tags ::
