Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that video technology will never be a success in football.
The technology in question is currently being trialled at the 2016 Club World Cup and was used during Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Club America in the competition's second semi-final on Thursday.
Ronaldo netted his team's second of the match late on, but it appeared that the forward's goal was going to be disallowed when the video referee alerted the match referee to a potential offside call.
Ultimately Ronaldo's goal was given after a short stoppage, but the Portugal international is not a fan of the technology which could eventually be introduced to mainstream football.
"Television does not work with football," Ronaldo told reporters.
Real Madrid, who have still not lost in any competition since the start of April, will take on Japanese side Kashima Antlers in the final of the Club World Cup on Sunday night.
