Sevilla boss Unai Emery has admitted that his side 'lacked aggression' in Tuesday's European Super Cup against Real Madrid.
Sevilla lost 2-0 to their Spanish rivals in Cardiff, with Cristiano Ronaldo netting a brace for Los Blancos.
"We came to the final with one intention, to play to our strengths, but we knew we were against a powerful opponent," Emery told reporters.
"Clearly, finals are played to be won, but you have to have options and that's what we have done.
"It's true we lacked a little clarity and aggression on their goal and that's something we have to continue polishing and working."
Sevilla open their league campaign at home to Valencia next weekend.
