Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain has claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is not as good as he thinks he is and has slammed the Real Madrid star's egotistical personality.
The Portugal captain and three-time Ballon d'Or winner needs just two goals to equal Raul's all-time scoring record of 323 for the Spanish giants, having netted 321 times in 307 competitive games for the club since joining from Manchester United in 2009.
However, Higuain, who played with Ronaldo at the Bernabeu for four years before leaving Madrid for Serie A in 2013, insists that the forward's attitude problems mean that he is not on the same level as his rival and Higuain's Argentina teammate Lionel Messi.
Higuain is quoted by Spanish newspaper Sport as saying: "[Ronaldo] has a lot of ego. If you don't say that he is the best, he is not your friend. Cristiano thinks that he is the best but he is overrated.
"I have shared a dressing room with Messi and one is nothing like the other."
Ronaldo missed several chances as Madrid were held to a 0-0 draw by Malaga on Saturday.
