Jose Mourinho has insisted that he will not resign as manager of Real Madrid.
The 49-year-old Portuguese, whose side have fallen 16 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table, intends to make history at the Bernabeu by guiding the famous club to more European glory.
He said: "I will use a phrase of Sir Alex Ferguson's. I am too old to quit. And, if I may, I am too young.
"I have said my goal is to win a third Champions League - with Real after Porto and Inter. No-one has ever succeeded [in doing that].
"And for Real Madrid it would be their 10th Champions League - the only team to reach double digits."
Mourinho's current contract is due to expire in June 2016.
