Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has instructed his lawyers to take legal action against a journalist for criticising him in an article earlier this week.
Roberto Palomar, who is editor-in-chief at Spanish newspaper Marca, angered the former Chelsea manager by describing him as "the type of person who would flee after knocking someone down" and his representatives were quick to respond.
A letter from Mourinho's lawyers read: "In our eyes this phrase is... degrading and was used in a manner which was completely unnecessary in the critique."
The club have also confirmed that action will also be taken against Alfons Godall, a former Barcelona director, for describing Mourinho as a "psychopath" during the victory over Manchester City.
Godall posted on Twitter: "It's lamentable the psychopath celebrating goals as if he was a player."
If Mourinho is successful in winning damages from Marca, he will donate the money to his son's football team.
