Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has said that he wants to play further forward for Los Blancos.
Kroos was largely given licence to break forward while operating under the leadership of Zinedine Zidane, but new Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui has changed the German's role.
Indeed, Kroos now plays in a much deeper midfield position for the European champions, and the 28-year-old claimed that he 'was not Casemiro' when questioned on his role.
"It's a challenge to reverse this situation. We've shown we can do it. We've always had phases like these. It doesn't worry me. I like playing deeper, but I'm not Casemiro," Kroos told reporters.
Madrid will attempt to recover from back-to-back defeats when they host Levante on October 20.
