Marcelo has claimed that "no-one compares" to his Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo landed his fifth Ballon d'Or title on Thursday - beating rival Lionel Messi to the trophy once again after helping Los Blancos win a Champions League and La Liga double during the 2016-17 campaign.
The Portuguese followed up the success with a brace in Madrid's 5-0 win over Sevilla in La Liga, and after the match, Marcelo paid tribute to his teammate.
"I'm a fan of Ronaldo's, that's clear. Cristiano and Messi are different. Each one has their own history and credit. We're privileged to live in the same era as these two," Marcelo told reporters.
"For me, Cristiano is the best player in the world. I didn't see Maradona or Pele play [live], but what I know is that no-one compares [to Ronaldo]."
Ronaldo has scored 14 times in 19 appearances for Madrid this season, although only four of his goals have come in La Liga.
