Real Madrid attacker Marco Asensio is hopeful that Zinedine Zidane will remain head coach of the Spanish giants beyond the end of the season.
Zidane has led Madrid to back-to-back Champions League titles, and the Frenchman also wrested the La Liga crown away from Barcelona last season.
Los Blancos are currently 15 points off La Liga leaders Barcelona this term, however, and it has been suggested that Zidane could lose his role as head coach at the end of the campaign.
Asensio has claimed that Zidane is "the ideal coach" for the European champions.
"I want him to continue here and I believe he should," Asensio told Cadena Ser. "He has won two Champions League titles and La Liga – he is the ideal coach for the club and for this group of players. It is incredible how quickly success can be forgotten about."
Madrid will return to league action with a trip to Las Palmas on March 31.
