Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has revealed that he can accept the whistles from his own fans, but has defended his selection of goalkeeper Antonio Adan.
Mourinho again chose to play Adan instead of Iker Casillas for Sunday night's 4-3 win over Real Sociedad and was critical of the lack of respect shown to the 25-year-old.
"It's perfect for me if the fans whistle me before the game and then support the team during the match," Goal.com quotes Mourinho as saying.
"I've told Adan ahead of the game that the whistles are not directed at him. The fans and the press don't have a problem with him, but with me.
"In my opinion there's a lack of respect toward Adan. He's a Canterano and has been at this club for 16 years. There seems to be a problem with me, which is turning into a lack of respect to Adan."
The win moved Real five points behind city rivals Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
