Departing manager Jose Mourinho has issued a short statement to wish Real Madrid "much happiness in the future".
The 50-year-old will leave the Bernabeu after Saturday's game with Osasuna, ending an up-and-down three-year spell in charge.
He won the Copa del Rey and La Liga during his first two seasons in the Spanish capital, but his popularity has since decreased significantly due to a drop in form and a rift with club icon Iker Casillas.
Mourinho has not spoken publicly following the announcement that his contract with Real is to be mutually terminated.
However, he issued a message t on the club's official website on Friday evening.
"I wish everyone associated with Real Madrid much happiness in the future," read the statement. "I appreciate the support of lots of fans and respect the criticism of others.
"Once again, a lot of happiness to everyone and, above all, good health. Hala Madrid!"
Mourinho, who is the odds-on favourite to become the next Chelsea manager this summer, has won 127 of his 177 games in charge of Real, drawing 28 and losing 22.
