Valencia captain Dani Parejo has played down talk that his side could challenge for the league title this season.
Los Che ended Real Madrid's 22-game winning run at the weekend, with their 2-1 win at the Mestalla fuelling suggestions that the club could once again compete at the top of the table.
However, Parejo has insisted that Valencia's task this season is to qualify for the Champions League and enjoy a good run in the Copa del Rey.
"We're not talking about the league title. Maybe if there are five or six games [left] and we're in a close fight for it," the Spaniard told reporters.
"The goal is to qualify for the Champions League and compete in the Copa del Rey, a very nice competition."
Valencia are currently just five points off the league leaders Real Madrid, but Los Blancos do have a game in hand.
