Jose Mourinho has not been lined up to return to Real Madrid following his sacking by Chelsea yesterday afternoon, according to club president Florentino Perez.
Despite having fallen out with a number of key players during his three years in charge of Madrid, Mourinho is known to still share a positive relationship with Perez.
His recent availability had resulted in reports that he could be drafted in to replace Rafael Benitez at the Bernabeu, but Perez has insisted that no such deal is in place.
"Nobody can predict the future but right now he is not going to come to Madrid," he told Cadena Ser.
"Benitez is capable of solving the problems we have. That's the only option we're considering."
During his time in Spain Mourinho guided Los Blancos to one La Liga title and the Copa del Rey.
