Former Real Madrid striker Raul has confirmed that he will return to the Bernabeu in the future, but is currently enjoying life in New York.
The Spaniard will hang up his boots before the end of the year, with November's playoff fixtures for current club New York Cosmos due to be his final involvement in the professional game.
It had been claimed that the 38-year-old would look for a return to Real Madrid in a coaching capacity, but the forward has revealed that he is currently in no rush to leave North America.
"For now I want to live in New York. I know someday I'll return to Madrid, but not anytime soon," AS quotes Raul as saying.
"At the moment I'll stay here with my family and then see if I accept an interesting project. Hopefully the Cosmos offer to make me an ambassador for the team, but we haven't talked about anything."
Raul, who represented Real Madrid between 1992 and 2010, joined North American Soccer League outfit New York Cosmos last October.
